tim li is a designer based in los angeles and shanghai, currently working at curio home goods.

tim draws reference from culture and history to reimagine opportunities. from ideation to the final outcome, he is interested in crafting visual stories that fuses aesthetics, graphics and emotion. he strongly believes that his role as a designer is to create thoughtful, well-built objects that reflect today and last tomorrow.

‘clamp’ side table is designed around a c-clamp that already exists on the market. with this project, tim continues to explore the possibilities of designing around off-the-shelf objects. the cantilever structure minimizes the space the side table occupies and makes the top visually floating. the nature of the c-clamp also opens up possibilities of customizing the material and shape of the tabletop.
